Why We Encourage a 2nd Class for MCDC Ballet Folklorico Students
At MCDC, we believe in fostering well-rounded dancers with strong technical foundations, which is why we require all students enrolled in our Ballet Folklorico classes to also participate in a developing skills class (Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, or Technique).
While Ballet Folklorico offers unique cultural and artistic experiences, a second class helps build the necessary strength, flexibility, and technique that will enhance their overall dance abilities. Classes like Ballet, Jazz, or Technique are essential for developing stamina, fitness, posture, and coordination—skills that directly benefit their performance in Folklorico.
Dancing is a physical discipline, and practicing regularly between sessions will allow students to grow faster, build confidence, and perform with greater skill. This combined approach ensures that students receive a comprehensive dance education and perform at their best in all our shows.
Thank you for supporting your dancer’s journey with us!
